A personal alarm is a key part of any care call system, allowing carers the reassurance that they will be alerted immediately if a friend or relative is in distress. Also known as panic buttons for the elderly, a personal alarm can be carried around by a vulnerable person and activated when a threat is detected. Other forms of personal alarm can be applied to doors, so that you are alerted when someone potentially puts themselves at risk by opening their front door. A panic alarm can also be wall-mounted, for example, adjacent to the front door, and activated if someone should feel that assistance is needed. For extra security, a panic button for the elderly can be used in combination with PIR movement sensors to help raise a personal alarm if an intruder is suspected.
