When a fire is detected, this unit provides a loud audible warning to the user automatically, sending an emergency alarm signal through the IntelliLink. When the signal is received by a relative or carer, the alarm is recognised as a priority call, and the relative or carer can contact the resident to double check it is not a false alarm.
If there is no response or the alarm is confirmed, the emergency services can be alerted. Smoke detectors like this are easy to install and come with a 10 year battery life, requiring no replacement batteries. The Radio interface has a five year battery life depending on usage.
